To get started adding a new page to your WordPress site, find the Pages menu in the WordPress Dashboard Navigation menu. Click Add new.
Add the title of the page, like About. Note: Now that your permalinks are set up, the title of your page will also be your page URL but you can edit this in the permalink area of the page.
Next, add some content.
The Publish section of the page editor is exactly the same as for writing posts, you will see this later in the lesson. When you’re ready to publish, you can either publish immediately, save this or a draft, or schedule the page to be published later. You can also make this password protected, say if you have a page only members can see or only certain people you want to see this page.
Parent – You can arrange your pages in hierarchies. For example, you could have an “About” page that has “Life Story” and “My Dog” pages under it. There are no limits to how many levels you can nest pages.
Templates – Some WordPress themes have custom page templates, so the next Template section allows you to apply a template to your new page such as “landing” “blog” “archives” pages.
Order – Pages are usually ordered alphabetically, but you can choose your own order by entering a number (1 for first, etc.) in this field.
Preview the page one last time, then click Publish. You’ve added a new page to your WordPress site.
